Charlotte graduated from the University of East Anglia in 2001, where she studied a BA hons in The History of Art and Architecture. She then went on to undertake a Diploma in Foundation Studies followed by a PGCE in Art and Design at Homerton College, Cambridge, before securing a teaching role in a secondary comprehensive school in Hertfordshire, in 2004. Charlotte worked as an Art and Design teacher for 11 years before becoming Subject Leader for Art and Design and Photography in 2015. In this role she was responsible for designing and delivering the Art and Photography curriculum to students aged 11-18. She did this until 2023 when she joined the Hamilton Kerr Institute.
